Dissertation proposal
During the fall semester, I am taking a comprehension course with Dr. Dennis and Dr. King in order to finalize my proposal. My goal is to defend my proposal prior to winter break so that I can collect data in the spring.
Global Competencies in Study Abroad
I administered a global competencies self evaluation prior to departure and the same survey again during the last week of the program. I am finalizing the analysis and writing of this paper to submit to Dr. Dennis as soon as possible.

Stage 2
Dissertation proposal
During the summer semester, I completed the first draft of chapters 1-3 of my dissertation proposal. I need to revise chapter 1 so that my question aligns with my data collection procedures. I need to clarify the purpose of my study and further develop my methods.
Stage 3
Preparing Teachers to Prepare Children: Building PST Global Competencies in a Study Abroad Context
This manuscript was submitted on August 1, 2017 to Childhood Education Innovations for a special issue on global citizenship education that will be published in November 2017. We should hear back in regard to this submission by the end of August 2017.
Visualizing literacy events: Using Instagram to document thinking and learning in a study abroad context
This paper focuses on an two year study in which we used Instagram to facilitate reflection of pre-service teachers in a study abroad context. It is in the final stages of revision and will be submitted for publication before the end of the year.
Interactive Children’s Books: A Content Analysis
This was submitted and rejected to LRA 2017. The reviewers feel that the research question needs to be narrowed and the methods section needs to be enhanced. One reviewer stated, “I think the author has important and interesting questions and that the content is of interest to the LRA audience.” A second reviewer stated, “A great start to important work.”

Cambridge Schools Experience: Developing International School University Partnerships
This chapter was published in The Handbook of Research on Efficacy and Implementation of Study Abroad Programs for P-12 Teachers edited by Heejung An in 2017. Our chapter, entitled The Cambridge Schools Experience -Developing Literacy Educators within an International School University Partnership is chapter 15 in the book.

Digital Identity Research Group
We coded the blog posts of pre-service teachers to determine how they develop their digital identities. I will continue to meet weekly with Dr. Burns and Stephanie Branson to finalize this research and prepare to present at ATE in February 2016.
Images of Literacy: Using Instagram to explore literacy practices in a study abroad field experience
The purpose of this study was to explore how preservice teachers used photography as an expressive mode to document and understand literacy practices in a study abroad context. Stephanie Branson and I will continue with data analysis and apply to conferences during Fall 2015.

Stage 1
Trioethnography
I will continue to collect data on my own STEM coaching practice and meet weekly with Brian Flores, a literacy coach, and Wendy Baker, a partnership resource teacher, to discuss and analyze our roles. We will meet with a COPIS mentor at their fall conference in Atlanta in October for assistance with this research.

Inquiry: Providing Meaningful Promethean Professional Development to Pre-service teachers
Inquiry into my own practice while supporting pre-service teachers in the field who are using Promethean technology. Field notes collected August 2013- March 2014. Presented at NAPDS National Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada and in Supervision II.
